五日以为期。

Now I am overdue one day,

六日归来已是疑，

Which must mean for her long hours of delay.

应是望多时。

“Giddap!” My galloping horse seems too slow,

鞭个马儿归去也，

For impatient I grow.

心急马行迟。

I shout to a passing magpie,

不免相烦喜鹊儿，

“Go quick! Tell her I’m coming. Fly!”
