聪明的董事长知道，这些学生有渊博的知识做后盾，书本上的知识是难不倒他们的，于是，公司人事部就策划了一个别开生面的招聘会。
招聘开始了，董事长让前六名应聘者一起进来，然后发了15元钱，让他们去街上吃饭。并且要求，必须保证每个人都要吃到饭，不能有一个人挨饿。
六个人从公司里出来，来到大街拐角处的一家餐厅。他们上前询问就餐情况，服务员告诉他们，虽然这儿米饭、面条的价格不高，但是每份最低也得3元。他们一合计，照这样的价格，六个人一共需要18元，可是现在手里只有15元，无法保证每人一份。于是，他们垂头丧气地出了餐厅。
回到公司，董事长问明情况后摇了摇头，说：“真的对不起，你们虽然都很有学问，但是都不适合在这个公司工作。”
其中一人不服气地问道：“15元钱怎么能保证六个人全都吃上饭？”
董事长笑了笑说：“我已经去过那家餐厅了，如果五个或五个以上的人去吃饭，餐厅就会免费加送一份。而你们是六个人，如果一起去吃的话，可以得到一份免费的午餐，可是你们每个人只想到自己，从没有想到凝聚起来，成为一个团队。这只能说明一个问题，你们都是以自我为中心、没有一点团队合作精神的人。而缺少团队合作精神的公司，又有什么发展前途呢？”

一心只为自己而缺少团队精神的人应该为蚂蚁的英勇行为感到汗颜！我们当然具有团队精神，但不是人人都具有这种精神。团队精神要求它的每一个团队成员，紧密地团结在团队的旗帜下，为着团队的生存、发展和荣誉，奋力拼搏，以至不惜牺牲自己宝贵的生命。蚂蚁的团队精神也许是天生的本能，但人的团队精神文明却是可以培养的。让人人都有团队意识，人人都全身心地维护团队，是我们思想政治工作的一项重要任务。团队小到一个班级，一个学校，大到一个国家，如果人人都能发扬光大团队精神，又何愁院校不兴，国家不强呢？

而团队合作是一种为达到既定目标所显现出来的自愿合作和协同努力的精神。它可以调动团队成员的所有资源和才智，并且会自动地驱除所有不和谐和不公正现象，同时会给予那些诚心、大公无私的奉献者适当的回报。如果团队合作是出于自觉自愿时，它必将会产生一股强大而且持久的力量。它的形态很像智囊团，但与智囊团却有重大区别。
在你的智囊团中，你将各个独立的人组织成小团体，你们都具有共同的强烈欲望和明确目标，并且能从日益增进的热忱、想象力和知识中获得明确的利益。团队合作的情形和智囊团的合作形态很类似，但却有重大区别。由于团队中的成员未必都具有相同的强烈欲望和明确目标，所以，你必须更努力于使团队成员不断地为工作奉献。同时，你也应该要求自己，不断地为成员做出奉献并发掘他们的欲望，给他们以适当的回报。
可见，团队合作与智囊团原则的不同之处在于：前者针对的是一个组织的全体成员，出发点在于调动团队成员中各方的努力，但这些努力未必都具有明确目标和相互和谐；而后者针对的则是直接参与咨询、决策和领导的少数智囊团成员，并以这些成员之间的明确目标、以及相互和谐为重要因素？出发点在于充分激发全体成员的智慧，并将这种智慧汇集成一股实现目标的合力。
虽然团队合作会产生力量，但这种力量的凝聚只是一时的现象还是具有永久性，这就必须视激发合作的动机而定了。若成员之间的合作是以自愿性的动机为基础时，那么，在此动机消失之前，团队合作必然会产生持久性的力量。
真正的团队合作必须以别人"心甘情愿与你合作"作为基础，而你也应该表现出你的合作动机，并对合作关系的任何变化抱着警觉的态度。团队合作是一种永无止境的过程，虽然合作的成败取决于各成员的态度，但是，维系成员之间的合作关系却是你责无旁贷的工作。
要想激发团队的合作精神，前提条件是要先组织一个好的团队。好的团队决不是随随便便凑合在一起的乌合之众，而是为实现一个共同的目标，按照必备的条件，经过严格的挑选而组织起来的精干的团体。所以，确定团队成员的特质，组织一个好的团队，乃是激发团队合作精神的关键和起点。
团队成员的特质主要应考虑以下几个方面：忠诚、能力、积极的态度、多做一点点的精神、信心、意志力。
按照上述条件，挑选团队成员，这里要特别注意：一定要做到坚持条件，宁缺毋滥。
你必须信任团队的所有成员，彼此之间要开诚布公，互相交心，做到心心相印，毫无保留；
你要与团队的每一个成员紧密合作，直到整个团体都能紧密合作为止；
分析每一个成员完成工作的动机，研究他们的迫切需要，针对他们的动机和需要，付给他们应得的利益，在不影响团队发展的前提下，尽可能让他们多得一点；
订出明确的集会时间和地点，讨论计划，执行计划，否则就注定会失败；
做好团队成员之间的沟通和协调工作，使整个团队像一台机器一样，有条不紊地和谐运转；
