There is no denying the fact that studying abroad is a hotly debated topic today. Obviously, studying abroad has a number of rewards/advantages. In the first place, a student can have access to advanced science and technology as well as desirable working conditions which might not be available at home. In the second place, he can be exposed to entirely new ideas and trends. Last but not least, by living and studying in a foreign country, one can improve his foreign language much faster than at home.
Nevertheless, as every coin has two sides, studying abroad also confronts one with a series of hardships. For one thing, learning a foreign language is far from an easy thing at the beginning for most people. For another, a completely new environment with different customs and habits may also be a barrier to overseas students, especially to the young. An added difficulty lies with finance: it can cost a lot to study abroad.
From my point of view, the advantages of studying abroad outweigh its disadvantages. But it is a big decision to go abroad to study and one should take into consideration his financial conditions and his ability to adapt to new surrounding. Personally, I choose to go abroad and study if I find it necessary.

In recent years， studying abroad has flourished. Thousands of schloars and students have gone to foreign countries to study. Many people are sparing no effort in applying for going abroad.
Attending schools abroad has many advantages. In the first place， students who have studied abroad can act as mediators between peoples of different cultures so as to promote international understanding. Secondly， we can learn much more advanced knowledge of science and technology from the foreign countries. With the deepening of reform and opening-up of our country, many people dream of going abroad for further study. They insist that the modern research facilities, world famous professors and excellent environment in those foreign colleges can help lay a perfect foundation for their future development.
However, there are still many people who favor studying at home. They argue that studying abroad is too expensive and doesn't pay. They also point out that there are no language and cultural barriers if they study at home.
Both opinions are acceptable in some sense. If students have the chance and financial resources, they should seize the opportunity to study abroad and broaden their eyes. On the other hand, if conditions don't permit, they can pursue their studies in top universities at home. What counts is not the place where you study, but the desire to learn.
随着我国改革开放的加深，很多人梦想着出国深造。他们认为国外大学的先进研究设备，闻名世界的教授以及优越的环境能够帮助他们为未来的发展打下完美的基础。
然而，仍然有很多人赞成在国内学习。他们认为出国留学太贵了，付不起费用。他们还指出如果他们在国内学习就不会存在语言和文化障碍。
从某种意义上说着两种观点都可以接受。如果学生拥有机会和经济来源，他们应该抓住机会出国留学，开阔他们的视野。另一方面，如果条件不允许，他们可以在国内顶级大学追求学业。重要的不是你在哪个地方学习而是你学习的渴望。

我国目前是世界上出国留学生最多的国家。近20年来，共有58。2万的中国留学生赴103个国家和地区留学。据《光明日报》报道，联合国教科文组织的一项调查显示，到XX年底，全球留学生总数达160多万，其中中国留学生分存在世界的各地，已经成为日、美两国最大的生源国/而中学生出国留学的人数在3年内增长了近4倍，总数突破1万多人。
为什么会有如斯多的中学生选择出国留学呢?一方面，外国的学习教育模式宽松但又不乏培养学生的创造力和自主学习性而深受家长的喜欢;而另一方面也反映出中国的教育模式也正受到来自各方面的质疑。
首先，就是啼声最大的高考。高考被一些中学生戏成为“人生的一道独木桥”，这道独木桥险峻却要有千军万马争先恐后地争夺过这根独木桥，只要进了大学好像就前途一片光明。于是，成摞成叠的温习资料，题海卷库的后面你看到的是一个戴着啤酒瓶底、晚上1点睡觉、早上5点起床的疲劳高三学生，固然有点夸张，但高三的糊口的确是这样的，繁重、枯燥的学习，使其精神和身体大受摧残。假如高考失败，你也不仅仅是一个失败者，而好像是一个垃圾，被人冷笑和讽刺。一次考试就如斯轻率地判断一个学生的素质大很片面的做法。
其二，就是中国教育的黑暗面。固然现在社会和个人的经济收入已经进步了，但“贫困”是无可避免的2会泛起。然而农村惊人的贫困，在年年高涨的膏火眼前显得多么苍白无力，我们相信国家投入教育的钱一定良多，但每年的教育贪污案件还是居高不下，教育蒙上了一层金钱的色彩。试问，如斯的教育，又怎能使我们受到纯正的教人育本的教育呢?
其三，就是我国的教育的模式和方法。尽管近些年来。教育部分鼎力推行素质教育，但要由应试教育过度到素质教育，这并不是一挥而就的事。所以，我们现在的教育还是应试教育，它使我们丧失了考试范围以外对其他知识的摄取，一切只为考试而战，而其他的，关于这个世界其他的丰硕知识也一律被应试教育扼杀了。于是我们的高三学生暑假补课时间延长了，周末也不休息，一个晚上都不行，晚自习也延长了。假如硬要把它和素质教育联系起来，那也只是应试素质教育。
十几年前，美国的教育组到我们中国来做调查，对我国的教育界领导说“十几年过后，那么中国一定会泛起良多诺贝尔奖获得者和精英”十几年过去了，美国泛起了十几个诺贝尔奖获得者和各个领域的精英。而中国，没有一个诺贝尔奖获得者，而各个领域的精英也寥寥无几。这说明什么，说明中国的教育并未教会人学会学习，而是学会如何扼杀创造力。选择出国留学实为一个不得已之举，假如中国的教育无法受用与国人，就必需改!

近两年来，内地在大学生出国留学热度不减的同时，一些大城市尤其是沿海大城市的中学校园“托福”热升温，兴起了中学生出国留学热。在南方一些城市，办理出国留学的中学生占所有出国职员的百分之七十到八十。
中学生出国留学热何以兴起，其原因是多方面的。一部门人先富起来，每年支付孩子十万元到二十万元人民币的留膏火用已不成问题。二是海内升学和就业竞争压力加大，中学生要面对中考、高考的激烈竞争，相称多的家长担心孩子假如考不上重点中学，就会导致考不上好大学，终极影响就业和前途。三是教育市场国际化，外国学校看好中国市场。
据北京市教委有关部分证明，去年北京有五千多名公民办理了出国留学手续，其中以北大、清华等知名学府学生居多;其次是高中生，他们倾向于去欧美国家，如美国、英国、瑞士、新西兰、爱尔兰、德国、芬兰以及澳大利亚。在过去的三年里，申请在英国读本科的中国学生数目增长了近十倍，成为全球申请英国留学人数最多的国家之一;而初中生则倾向于去韩国、日本等国家。
王瑶出国前在一所普通中学上初三，成绩处于上游，但考上重点高中还得使很大的劲。对于自己的未来，她想得不多，“爸爸妈妈都有自己的公司，即便考不上大学，将来的出路也没什么问题，日子照样会过得挺惬意。所以父母帮我联系到英国读书时，我真觉得无所谓，让去就去呗。直到我到了伦敦，开始了独自一个人在外语学校学习的糊口，才发现离家后的日子有多灾。我是通过一所中介公司出去的，满认为会被安排得好好的，结果与事先说好的有很大出入，住宿和学习前提都不理想。那时，我天天醒来都大哭一场，也吵着要回家。后来妈妈反覆跟中介交涉，给我换了一所学校，又亲身来看我。折腾了几个月，我也就不再想回国的事了，只能既来之，则安之。努力适应这里的糊口，争取能考上大学。”
对女儿的现状，王瑶的母亲有些无奈：女儿刚走那阵子，一来电话就是她在那边哭，我在这边哭，想想孩子小小年纪事事都得靠自己就心疼。当初说服自己狠下心来让女儿出去，主要是考虑她出生时正赶上生养高峰，将来就业势必也会赶上高峰，如何让她在将来的竞争中据有上风呢?读名牌大学是个不错的选择，但以其当时的学习成绩，与其在海内花钱读个一般大学，索性不如走出国门去镀层金。像王瑶这样稀里胡涂出国的人不少，他们往往没有足够的精神预备，当站在异国他乡的土地上，才发现独立糊口原来是这样艰难。
不少人向往国外宽松、灵活、务实的基础教育，但有一点不能忽视，即无论多么进步前辈的教育体系也无法取代家庭的教育和亲情。家庭是孩子成长最重要、最亲切的环境，过早送孩子出国学习，使孩子相称长时间糊口在一个目生的环境中，失去了父母的支持、监视与匡助，对其身心的健康发展会有影响。
此外，家长还要考虑文化环境的问题。十四五岁的孩子头脑中的许多观念还不成熟，较收留易融入异域文化中，又缺乏分辨长短的能力，他们一旦到了另一种文化环境中学习、糊口，势必会面临从价值观念到行为方式的一系列冲突，而这时家长又不在身边，不能及时给予准确的引导，假如孩子的自控能力较差、意志薄弱，有可能误入歧途。果真如斯，岂不是得不偿失?
有鉴于此，专家忠告那些急于出国的中学生和家长：春秋太小不要急着留学，最好在海内大学毕业后，考取了托福再出国留学。这样一来可以减轻家庭负担，二是大学毕业后把握了一门专业，可以有更加明确的攻读方向，三是大学毕业后会有较强的糊口能力，心理和生理更加成熟，在挫折眼前有较强的承受能力。

In recent years, studying abroad has become a hot trend in China. Many parents prefer to send their children abroad to receive the further education.

Studying abroad has so many advantages. Firstly, we can see the world better and learn something about foreign countries. Study Abroad or in China?
There is no consensus of opinions among people as to whether students should study abroad or not. Some people are of the view that the youths should go overseas for further study if possible, while others take an opposite stand, firmly believing that it is unnecessary for students to study in a foreign country.
Those people who agree with studying abroad believe that diverse culture backgrounds can broaden students horizon. They also claim that overseas study can shape students personality because they are forced to deal with all kinds of difficulties by themselves. Nevertheless, the other people who agree with domestic education argue that our educational programs have been greatly improved during the past decades. They also point out that domestic education is convenient and economical.
As far as I am concerned, the former opinion holds more weight. For one thing, it can strengthen the learners abilities to understand and communicate with people from other cultures. For another, the developed countries still have a lot advanced knowledge we need to study. When all the factors are examined, we may reasonably come to the conclusion that studying abroad is advisable. (189 words)
