This weekend, there was an art festival in our school, it had been hold forfive years and the school insisted to make it become the feature. I was soexcited, this was the first time for me to join. Early in the morning, I sawthere were so many people coming to the campus, making the campus so lively. Thestudents dressed so well and gave the warm welcome to the guests. I walkedaround and appreciated the painting, every work was drawn by the students, I wasso impressed by these works. There were also some handworks, which were socreative, it reflected the students’ wisdom. Though we were busy with oursubjects most of the time, some students still kept on their hobbies and made ittheir talent. I should learn from them and develop some interest.

China has the history of more than 5,000 years. Many foreign people areattracted by this big old country. They come here and want to know about thetraditional culture. However, Chinese young people don't show much interest inthe old culture, instead they chase the fashion and some even abandon theprecious culture. For example, paper cutting, one of the excellent arts that isinherited by our ancestors. Many foreign media speak highly of this greathandicraft and they are astonished by the wisdom of Chinese people. I have seenthis art when I stay in my hometown. Only few old people can do it. They justtake it for killing time. Paper cutting is like the old fashion and is forgottenby the young generation. The media should report more positive information aboutthe traditional culture to inspire the young people to learn.

Many traditional arts are losing nowadays, because some of them have beenreplaced by the new machines and the scientific products. I feel so sorry aboutthe losing arts, in my opinion, they are so classic and their charm will neverfade away. Take my grandma for example. She is good at paper-cut which wasinherited from her mother. But when comes to my mother’s generation, paper-cutseems to be kicked out, there are less people need it, so my mother doesn’tlearn this skill. The paper-cut art is losing in my family. When I found mygrandma had this skill, I was so surprised and curious about it. I asked mygrandma to teach me this skill. During the process, I found this art was sogreat, I was attracted by it. Some traditional arts like paper-cup should bekept.

Since I was very small, my parents sent me to learn painting. They thoughtI could understand art and mastered one skill. This experience brings me thesense of art. I have my own understanding of it.

On the one hand, art is an important way to express people's opinion. Whenwe see the pictures, the difference between classical and ordinary paintingslies in the thoughts. The famous artists implant their ideas in the pictures,which are admitted by the public, so the value of arts can be seen. Some famousartists expressed their unique opinion and gives arts great meaning.

On the other hand, art is not only from works, but also from life. Forexample, my mother cooks the delicious food. Everybody speaks highly of her. Soher food brings people great happiness, which makes the food an art for me.What's more, my friends is good at communicating. The way she talks can convinceother easily, so I call the way she communicates as an art.

In all, for me, art is around. It brings people a way to see the world ormakes our life wonderful.

What is art? When people think about this question, they will naturallythink about all kinds of musical instruments or the great paintings in the artmuseums. Art seems to so far away from the ordinary people, but I don’t thinkso. Art is everywhere. For example, the delicious food that is made by ourparents is the great art, and the value of the food is to bring people the greatjoy when they have a taste of it. The scenery around us is the visible art, whenwe appreciate it, our mood become eased. Art is something that brings people thepositive value for me, so art is around everybody. If we take time to slow downour pace, then we can enjoy art from life and feel the comfortablelifestyle.
