ladies and gentlemen , good afternoon! i’m very glad to stand here and giveyou a short speech. today my topic is “youth”. i hope you will like it , andfound the importance in your youth so that more cherish it.

first i want to ask you some questions:

youth

youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ; it is not rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is thefreshness ; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life .

youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of theappetite , for adventure over the love of ease. this often exists in a man of 60more than a boy of 20 . nobody grows old merely by a number of years . we growold by deserting our ideals.

years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul .worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.

whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure ofwonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the gameof living . in the center of your heart and my heart there’s a wireless station: so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and powerfrom men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .

when the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows ofcynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but aslong as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you maydie young at 80.

Today I am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of success. Whatis success? It is what everyone is longing for.Sometimes success would be rathersimple. Winning a game is success; getting a high grade in the exam is success;making a new friend is success; even now I am standing here giving my speech is somehow also success.

However, as a person’s whole life is concerned, success becomes very complicated. Is fortune success? Is fame success? Is high social statussuccess? No, I don’t think so. I believe success is the realization ofpeople’s hopes and ideals.Nowadays, in the modern society there are manypeople who are regarded as the successful. And the most obvious characteristics ofhem are money, high position and luxurious life. So most people believe that ssuccess and all that they do is for this purpose. But the problem is wether itis real success. We all know there are always more money, higher position andbetter condition in front of us. If we keep chasing them, where is the end? Whatwill satisfy us at last? Therefore, we can see, to get the real Success we mustneed something inside, which is the realization of people’ hopes and ideals.

Different people have different ideas about success; cause people’s hopesand ideas vary from one another. But I am sure every success is dear toeverybody, cause it is not easy to come by, cause in the process of our strivingfor success, we got both our body and soul tempted, meanwhile we are enlightenedby the most valuable qualities of human beings: love, patient, courage and senseof responsibility. These are the best treasures. So now I am very proud that Ihave this opportunity to stand here speaking to all of you. It is my success,cause I raise up to challenge my hope.

What is success? Everyone has his own interpretation as I do. But I amsure every success leads to an ever-brighter future. So ladies and gentlemen,believe in our hopes, believe in ourselves, we, every one of us, can make a successful life! Wish you all good success!

generations,admired by everyone.so do something in the time ofyoung,although you may not get achievements as these greatmen did ,though notfor the whole word,just for youeself,for those around!

the young is just like blooming flowers,they are so beautiful whenblooming,they make people feel happy,but with time passing by,after they withers,moet people think they are ugly.and so it is the same with young,we areenthusiastic when we are young,then we may lose our passion when getting olderand older.so we must treasure it ,don't let the limitted time paby ,leavingnothing of significance.

as you slowly open your eyes, look around, notice where the light comesinto your room; listen carefully, see if there are new sounds you can recognize;feel with your body and spirit, and see if you can sense the freshnein theair.

yes, yes, yes, it’s a new day, it’s a different day, and it’s a bright day!and most importantly, it’s a new beginning for your life, a beginning where youare going to make new decisions, take new actions, make new friends, and takeyour life to a totally unprecedented(空前的) level.

in your mind’s eye, you can see clearly the things you want to have, thepaces you intend to go, the relationships you desire to develop, and thepositions you aspire(励志) to reach.

you can hear your laughters of joy and happineon the day when everythinghappens as you dream. you can see the smiles on the people around you when themagic moment strikes. you can feel your face is getting red, your heart isbeating fast, and your blood is rushing all over your body, to every singlecorner of your being!

you know all this is real as long as you are confident, passionate andcommitted!(效忠的) and you are confident, you are passionate, you arecommitted!

you will no longer fear ma-ki-ng new sounds, showing new facialexpressions, using your body in new ways, approaching new people, and asking newquestions.

you will live every single day of your life with absolute passion, and youwill show your passion through the words you speak and the actions you take.

you will focus all your time and effort on the most important goals of yourlife. you will never succumb(屈服,屈从) to challenges of hardships.

you will never waver(动摇) in your pursuit of excellence. after all, you arethe best, and you deserve the best!

as your coach and friend, i can assure you the door to all the best thingsin the world will open to you, but the key to that door is in your hand. youmust do your part. you must faithfully follow the plans you make and take theactions you plan; you must never quit and you must never fear. i know you mustdo it, you can do it, you will do it, and you will succeed! now stand firm andtall, make a fist, get excited, and yell it out:

A son and his father were walking on the mountains. Suddenly, the sonfalls, hurts himself and screams, "AAAhhhh!!!"To his surprise, he hears thevoice repeating, somewhere in the mountain," AAAhhhh!" Curious, he yells," Whoare you?" He receives the answer,"Who are you?" Angered at the response, hescream,"Coward!" He receives the answer,"Coward!"

He looks to his father and asks,"What's going on?" The father smiles andsays,"My son, pay attention." And then he screams to the mountain, "I admireyou!" The voice answers," I admire you!" Again the man screams,"You are achampion!" The voice answers,"You are a champion!" The boy is surprised, butdoes not understand.

Then the father explains,"People call this ECHO, but really this is LIFE.It gives you back everything you say or do. Our life is simply a reflection ofour actions. If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart.If you want more competence in you team, improve your competence. Thisrelationship applies to everything, in all aspects of life. Life will give youback everything you have given to it."

I have a friend named Monty Roberts who owns a horse ranch in San Ysidro.He has let me use his house to put on fund-raising events to raise money foryouth at risk programs.

The last time I was there he introduced me by saying, "I want to tell youwhy I let Jack use my house. It all goes back to a story about a young man whowas the son of an itinerant horse trainer who would go from stable to stable,race track to race track, farm to farm and ranch to ranch, training horses. As aresult, the boy"s high school career was continually interrupted. When he was asenior, he was asked to write a paper about what he wanted to be and do when hegrew up.

"That night he wrote a seven-page paper describing his goal of somedayowning a horse ranch. He wrote about his dream in great detail and he even drewa diagram of a 200-acre ranch, showing the location of all the buildings, thestables and the track. Then he drew a detailed floor plan for a4,000-square-foot house that would sit on a 200-acre dream ranch.

"He put a great deal of his heart into the project and the next day hehanded it in to his teacher. Two days later he received his paper back. On thefront page was a large red F with a note that read, `See me after class."

"The boy with the dream went to see the teacher after class and asked, `Whydid I receive an F?"

"The teacher said, `This is an unrealistic dream for a young boy like you.You have no money. You come from an itinerant family. You have no resources.Owning a horse ranch requires a lot of money. You have to buy the land. You haveto pay for the original breeding stock and later you"ll have to pay large studfees. There"s no way you could ever do it.’ Then the teacher added, `If you willrewrite this paper with a more realistic goal, I will reconsider yourgrade.’

"The boy went home and thought about it long and hard. He asked his fatherwhat he should do. His father said, `Look, son, you have to make up your ownmind on this. However, I think it is a very important decision for you.’

"Finally, after sitting with it for a week, the boy turned in the samepaper,  making no changes at all. He stated, `You can keep theF and I"ll keep my dream.""

Monty then turned to the assembled group and said, "I tell you this storybecause you are sitting in my 4,000-square-foot house in the middle of my200-acre horse ranch. I still have that school paper framed over the fireplace."He added, "The best part of the story is that two summers ago that sameschoolteacher brought 30 kids to camp out on my ranch for a week." When theteacher was leaving, he said, `Look, Monty, I can tell you this now. When I wasyour teacher, I was something of a dream stealer. During those years I stole alot of kids’ dreams. Fortunately you had enough gumption not to give up onyours.’"

Don"t let anyone steal your dreams. Follow your heart, no matter what.

曼迪回过头对大家说：“跟你们说这些是因为你们现在就正坐在我的200英亩大的马场里的一个4000平方英尺的房子里面。那篇高中作业文章我一直留到现在，做了个框架，现在就挂在壁炉的上方。这个故事中，最精彩的部分是两个夏天之前，给我作业评分F的老师带着30个学生来到了我的马场，宿营了一周。当老师即将离开的时候，他说：曼迪，我可以这样跟你说，当我还是你的老师的时候，我简直就是一个盗取别人梦想的人。那些年，我偷了太多孩子的梦想了。让我感到欣慰和幸运的是，你却有足够的魄力和勇气没有放弃你自己的梦想。”

不要让任何人盗取你们的梦想。无论发生什么，跟随你的心，勇敢的前进吧!

However hard the situation is, we shouldn't lose our heart, because we haveour dreams. Our dreams are always glorious. We also have enthusiasm that willmake our dreams come true. But we must have the willingness to work hard, sinceif we work hard, some miracles will happen. Nothing good will happen without ourhard work.

It's my great honor to be invited here to give a speech on environment.Aswe all know the environment is very important to us. Because it has a greateffect on us.So we should protect our environment .

In fact ,we can do many things to improve environment such as plantingtrees, collecting waste paper, write to the local newspapers to remind everybodyto take care of it.The most important thing is,I think ,to let everybody knowits importance and everybody should make a contribution to it .

As long as we try, we can make it. We strongly believe that we can do it!

我很荣幸被邀请来做一场环境正如我们所知道的环境对我们来说很重要。因为它有一个很大的影响我们. 所以我们应该保护我们的环境。

事实上,我们可以做许多事来改善环境,例如植树,收集废纸、写信给当地报纸来提醒大家来照顾它最重要的是,我认为,让每个人都知道它的重要性,每个人都应该作出贡献。

On a Saturday morning. I went to have breakfast. I felt there was aterrible smell and went over to have a look carefully. I found that there was abig pile of banana skins giving out the smell.Just then a young fellow holding adustpan rubbish to walk towards here . He raised his hands, The big pile ofrubbish was here. At once I went to him and said “Uncle , you can’t do like this. These things will rot very soon. It’s bad for our health and make the peoplefall ill.” However ,the man said “Everyone does so ,who falls ill,who will seethe doctor.”

Looking at this , I remembered another act : There is a stream through ourvillage. Over it there are two bridges .At the age of seven years old , Ienjoyed the beautiful scenery under the bridge very much. It was the best placeto swim in summer. But now the rubbish was getting more and more .Dishleaves,fruit skins,dead ducks and chickens….after rotting ,not only themosquitos flew around but also the bad smell made everyone feel quiteterrible.Though the stream was cleaned up several times, it’s still happeningnow. A lot of plastic bags always float on it .In summmer we have to go far awayfrom the village to swim.

What causes this? Who is the devil?It’s the human ourselves. I have got toknown from a book .The rubbish in the countryside mostly occupies the fields anddamages the earth’s surface .It pollutes soil,wave ,atmosphere and damages ourhealth. The adults often say “The body is capital.” But why are they able tomake woollen cloth like this ? Does it affect everybody’s safe and sound life?

Schoolmates, we are the host of society tomorrow . It’s our duty to improveand build the safe invironment.

Safety is in our hands .We must take park in more environmental protectionactivities, Plant more trees and flowers to make us live in a beautiful homewith the blue sky ,blue water and green land forever.

we all know tagore.this famous indian poet once said, “life is given to us,and we earn it by giving it.” as the saying goes, nature is given to us, and weearn it by contributing to it. however, most people nowadays just want to askfor more from the nature. in fact, they do very little contribution to thenature. therefore, the environment around us is becoming worse and worse.

do you often use batteries? then do you know it takes 50 times more energyto make them than they produce? and just one simple battery can pollute as muchwater as a person can drink in his whole life. the facts and figures areamazing. so would you please try to use batteries only when it is necessary? ifpossible, give the used ones to the recycling companies so that they will bemade into new ones and won’t be able to pollute the environment any more.sometimes we become complacent when it comes to recycling, but when you speak interms of actual facts and figures that everybody can understand, people becomemuch clearer about the problem.

we, as school students, can also join in recycling activities to protectthe environment. for example, our class set up a recycling center beside theback door, it is very useful. it is used to collect the waste paper and plasticbottles. in the past, our classmates used to throw all of these into thetrashcan. at the very beginning of this collecting activity, it was not sowarm-welcomed. later, more and more people were influenced by the others andjoined this collecting activity. gradually, all the students in our class form agood habit to protect the environment. all of us will now put away the reusablethings instead of throwing them into the trashcan.we should always remember inour mind that protecting the environment is our duty that we can never neglect.finally would you please let me end this speech with a little poem, “be kind tothe river. be good to the trees. smile at the sunshine, and bow to the breeze.be friendly to nature, and nature will be friendly to you!”

What can I do for our environment?

Everyone can do something for our environment. For me, I should try to saveelectricity in my daily life. The quality of human life has improved greatly over the past few centuries,but Earth is being harmed more and more by human activity. As we develop ourtechnology, we demand more from our planet. Eventually, this will harm people aswell.

Our planet gives us everything we need, but natural resources are notendless. Strip mining devastates whole regions, leaving bare and useless ground.Deforestation removes old growth trees that can't be replaced. Too much fishingmay harm fish populations to the point where they can't recover. We are toocareless in taking what we want without giving anything back.

There are more people than ever, living longer that ever. So is it anysurprise that many areas suffer from too much development? Anyone living in ornear a city has experienced "urban sprawl". There is a new shopping area onevery corner and new houses, townhouses and apartments everywhere. Traffic getsworse and worse because planners can't keep up with growth. Keeping up withhuman demand is hard enough. Environmental concerns come in last.

With growth comes pollution. Companies and communities dump waste intowater. Landfills are full of trash. Emissions from factories pollute the air.Barrels of industrial waste and worse, radioactive waste, have no safe place togo. If we're not careful, we can harm our planet beyond repair.

People need to respect the Earth and try to preserve it. If we don't, whatkind of future will we have?

Our environment is very important for our lives . We need the fresh air,the clean water and so on . In the past, there were many trees around us ,theair was fresh and the river was clean.But now,people cut down many trees. Airpollution and water polloution are very serious . The environment around usbecomes very terrible . We should protect our environment. First, we shouldplant many trees to keep water. Second , we can ride a bike or walk to theschool and work..
