We have to admit that the impact of technology on society is unquestionable. Whether considering the TV or the computers, technology has had a huge impact on society. While not every advance has been beneficial, there have been many positive effects of technology. The internet is one typical example.
With the development of science and technology, the world is no longer what it used to be. But the ability of communication is a significant skill which should be cultivated if we want to survive and succeed in the world. But the way of communication with people has changed dramatically. Almost everyone today has a computer, and uses it to communicate with their friends, family, and even business. The virtual world communication has changed the way that people communicate.
Since communication between people in the real world is of utmost importance, lack of communication will lead to perish of human beings. Through communication in the real world, mutual understanding can be promoted and fostered between people, which cannot be replaced by the virtual communication.

There is no denying in saying that the internet has become an indispensable part of our daily life. Admittedly, this great invention, as a major means of entertainment that relieves one’s pressure, boredom, stress and burden, adds some flavor of fun and high-tech into our seemingly tedious, routine and monotonous life.
Nevertheless, the staggering advancement of technology is attended by grave consequences. It is universally acknowledged that people, especially the youngsters, are spending more and more time in the virtual world, such as chatting with the strangers, being addicted to the computer games and so on, instead of interacting in the real world. By doing so, the young waste their hours, lavish theirdays, even squander their years while living in the virtual world.
It is high time we paid due attention to this adverse trend brought by the unprecedented new technology. We must ensure that technological innovations will not render us slaves to high technology. Only in a sensible, healthy atmosphere can we hope to witness the ideal scene in which we, human beings, can utilize the internet to its uttermost.

Tradition and modernization are incompatible. One must choose between them.

Considered as opposite directions, tradition and modernization have their certain reasons to be incompatible in some aspects. However, in my view it is our societys responsibility to harmonize tradition and modernization, since they both have their indispensable advantages.
Tradition is memory of an individual, a city or a nation. The amassed historical elements are combined by time into an endless treasure mine involving culture, arts, technology and so forth.Tradition has long averted its function during this amassing progress, giving us experience, rules,ethos and morality. Based on traditional views, we are able to accept modern time and future. For instance, the traditional festival in China, Spring Festival, has played as a spiritual pillar of Chinese people. During that day, people will have vacation, returning home and sharing an annual dinner with family members. It is the only time, to many Chinese, when they can have an entire rest, only dropping into happiness and family. The social function of Spring Festival lays in diversified aspects which help people and the whole society to keep a healthy, stable attitude to their life and family. Other traditional elements have all their values, since they are familiar to a group of people, containing history and memories. The Greek architect, master of critical regionalism, Aghias Zonis claimed that people will feel dangerous without traditional and familiar elements, which cause them an environment of safety.
