It can carve hard lines on beautiful faces and wear out youth year afteryear, but using it well can make a piece of simple stone into a great statue.St. Mary Academy is still a simple piece of white stone briefly carved, but astime marches on, it may be spoiled by dust, worn out by weather,or broken into separate pieces. What I feel when I hear these words depends on whether I have done anythingmeaningful over the years. If I have been successful, I will smile with prideand contentment, for I have taken a part, though a very small part, in carvingout, with the knife of time, this wonderful model of school life.

If your self-perception is that you can’t accomplish something becauseyou’re not smart enough, then take the time to learn what you need to know, andthen your self-perception will change.
If your self-perception is that you can’t accomplish something because younever finish anything you start, then go and finish something and change yourself- perception.
If your self-perception is that you’re too lazy, too busy, too unworthy,too unfocused, too depressed, or too dependent on others to accomplish greatthings, then you’re right. You are that because you believe you are, but infact, you can change that! Life is change, and the past doesn’t equal thefuture. Your reality today is the result of your past beliefs and actions.Change your beliefs and actions, and you will change your future. Whether youthink you can or you can’t, you’re right. You are what you think.
Think about that the next time you need an excuse.

我怀着既期待又紧张的心情预备，在训练的过程中，英语老师为了要我适应计时铃声，控制好说完故事的时间，模拟了比赛铃声响起的各种突发状况。 当我第一次训练听到催促的铃声，我心想：“天啊！超过期间会被评审扣分！”整理时，我难过得流下伤心的眼泪。老师频频安慰我，要我心平气和认识比赛的气氛。
经由反覆的训练，我徐徐的适应铃声所带给我的影响，并且能驾轻就熟的掌握时间，最后，我终于能在划定时间内说完故事，也得到更多的自信。
到了正式比赛确当天，我自信满满带着精心设计的各种道具来到比赛现场。每个参赛对手实力坚强，看到每个人将辛劳训练的成果，淋漓尽致的展现在舞台上，激起了我强盛的斗志。轮到我上台时，我从收留自若气定神闲的立场，以及灿烂可爱的笑脸，博得评审和观众如雷的掌声，英语老师和亲身前来为我鼓励打气的爸妈都极力称赞我，我对自己的表现给予最高的评价，大家都斩钉截铁的以为冠军非我莫属。
当成绩宣布时，出乎意料的，我居然名落孙山，当场嚎啕大哭，爸妈只能在一旁安慰鼓励我。
固然这样的结果，让我难过不已，但“要怎么收成先那么栽”，我坚信只要我持续不懈，总有一天能为学校争取荣誉，我的努力将为自己种出一片幸福的花田。

I feel so happy to have the chance to make a speech. The title of my speech is Protect the Environment, Protect Ourselves. I hope you will like it.
Everybody knows waste pa-pe-r and used coke cans are discarded everywhere. You might have seen plastic bags flying in the sky and getting caught in the trees when the wind blows or maybe you have seen old cans floating in the rivers and polluting the water. Our environment is the place in which we live, but it is being ruined by us.
There is a story about house and trees. It is said that a man’s house was surrounded by a lot of trees. Though the wind was strong, that man could have a good rest under the trees. How comfortable the life was! One day, that man wanted to enlarge his house, so he cut down all the trees. Then the autumn came without the protection. The strong wind blew the roof of the house into the sky. The whole house was gone with the wind. What a pity! But that’s the price people have to pay for destroying in the ecology balance. People shouldn’t be short-sighted. Protecting the environment is everyone’s task.
As you know, there are four kinds of pollution. They are air pollution, water pollution, waste pollution and noise pollution. But what can we do to solve the pollution? I think, firstly, we can make cars that don’t pollute the environment. We can ask companies to use modern clean technology. In some big cities, we can limit the number of cars. Secondly, we can try to use lewater and make sure that we do not pollute the water. We can tell factories that they are not allowed to pour waste water into the lakes and rivers. Thirdly, we should not throw rubbish in parks and cities. We can pick up rubbish if we see it. We can put more rubbish bins in our parks and cities. Fourthly, we can live far from the noise and make the laws to limit the noise.

文鼎苑社区进行了英语演讲比赛， 请来了2位外教和一个英语老师作为评委。我和姐姐也参加了比赛， 我们的题目是《WHAT COLOUR IS IT》， 整个比赛分为2个阶段， 幼儿组和少儿组。他们讲的.可流利了， 外教NIKE 不停的点头， SHELLA老师是个菲律宾人， 也是在说“GREAT"。 轮到我和姐姐上场了， 我们都很紧张 ， 妈妈后来跟我们说：表情非常严肃， 像是法官一样”， 当我和姐姐朗诵完成时，SHELLA 老师问了我们一个问题， 我们都回答正确了。但是， 真的没有想到有一个跟我们差不多大的女孩， 她能用英语把整个故事讲完， 而且讲了5分钟左右， 真是太厉害了。 最后老师 颁发了奖状， 我和姐姐获得了优秀奖。
希望我们明年暑假还能参加这样的比赛， 我想我胆子还会大一些。

听说学校要在四,五,六年级各选一名同学去参加英语演讲比赛,四年级选了我,五年级是申紫涵,六年级是马流畅。
我们三个每天都在政教处背稿子,迎接“战斗”。
可是跟比赛仅一天时间,马流畅很难把稿子读的既流利又有感情,还加上动作,老师不得不把马流畅去掉。
现在只剩我和申紫涵,好害怕呀!
终于到了比赛的一天,我们的“战地”是市二中。到了那里,我更加紧张了,可当我看到三位评委和蔼可亲的微笑时,却放松了很多。
“二号选手,麻雨露”“啊,轮到我了”我心里更慌了 ,这时,坐在我一旁的英语老师鼓励我,说:“别怕,相信自己,你最棒!”
我鼓起勇气,走上台开始演讲。因为我是二号选手,后面还有很多同学,所以我们等了很长时间才结束,出来时我的腿都发软了,可老师却说,这次比赛不是为了拿奖,而是为了锻炼我们的'勇气,当然,拿奖最好,但那些都是次要的!
谁也没有想到,我竟然晋级了,老师又给我一篇稿子,我现在正在认认真真的背稿子。我相信通过我的努力我还会再晋级的!
