Thus, be optimistic, ladies and gentlemen, as it can give you confidence and help you see yourself through the hard times, just as Winston Churchill once said, “An optimist sees an opportunity in every calamity; a pessimist sees a calamity in every opportunity.”

Historically as well as currently, there are too many optimists of this kind to enumerate. You see, Thomas Edison is optimistic; if not, the light of hope in his heart could not illuminate the whole world. Alfred Nobel is optimistic; if not, the explosives and the prestigious Nobel Prize would not have come into being. And Lance Armstrong is also optimistic; if not, the devil of cancer would have devoured his life and the world would not see a 5-time winner of the Tour De France.

Psychologist tell us that stress is a state of worry caused by the problem of living, such as too much work or study, heavy responsibilities, and quickened pace of life.

Statistics show that stress comes from every detail in our life. Financial problems, poor health, being laid off may be the stress that most adults now suffering. As students in the university, we are also under our special stress. While study, having to take various tests and submit a project against a deadline may put a great pressure on us. And the things make us felt stressed may be our parents's greater expectations on us than we could reach. Later, when we are likely to graduate, some other problems will also annoy us. I think we will worry a lot about our ability to compete in the job market and how we can best use what we've learned at college in our future job.

The chief problem we should face to is our atitude towards stress.People usually say they can not live in the sun except they escape from stress. It's unwelcome ! Yes, however, very necessary. Just image a world where stress does not exist and people lead their life in a very comfortable way. But is this kind of living condition as perfect as we hope ? Without stress, they may feel very satisfied with the current life but lack of power to discover new things. Too much satisfaction result in nothing except a countermarch of the society. No stress, no development. So a certain amount of stress is good. It can stimulate us and increase our level of alertness.

And our answer to stress is another vital problem. How to do with ourselves when stress suddenly break into our life ? To wave the white flag and admit our unability, to give up to our ideality, or worstly, just to suicide as to put an end to everything … Of cause not. The principle is to tackle with stress gentlely and harmoniously. We should try our best to release ourselves. Such as to do some exercise, to linsen to traditional Chinese music or classical music to ease our minds and to learn to view these changes of life as challenges.It's no use crying over spilt milk. Only to accept what has happened can solve the problem.

For those people whose family are not poor, they can chase their dreamswithout hesitation. The parents will give great support to them and no matterwhat their children do, they just want them to be happy. Without the economicburden, those people can focus all their attention and follow their dreams allthe time.

对于那些家庭条件并不差的人来说，他们可以毫不犹豫地追逐自己的梦想。无论孩子做什么，父母都会大力支持，因为他们只是想让自己孩子开心。没有了经济的负担，这些人可以集中所有的精力去追寻自己的梦想。

But for the persons whose family are poor, especially the parents arewaiting for the children’s economic support, they should make ends meet firstand then follow their dreams. Life can’t be ideal all the time, only when theysolve the basic needs, dreams will be supported. Some people make the thingsthey like as a hobby, they keep studying it in their spared time, if insist,they will get the extra achievement.

但对于那些家庭贫困的人，尤其是父母还在等待孩子们的经济支持。这样的人群应该先维持生计，然后再去追逐自己的梦想。生活不可能是理想的，只有当他们解决了基本需求，梦想才会得到支持。有些人把他们喜欢的东西作为一种业余，在业余时间不断研究，如果坚持下去，就会获得额外的成就。

Last night, I watched a tennis game, it was the US open, because there wasa Chinese female player came to the semi-final, so I stayed up to watched thegame. Unluckily, she was injured twice, though she still wanted to finish thegame, her body situation did not allow her to do so. Her insistence moved somany audience, they gave her the biggest applause.

The power of insistence is great, it will help you set free your potentialand keep move on. Just for the players, they will face all kinds of incidencesnow and then, but the will to insist will make them finish the game. Sometimes,people win the game not because of their excellent skills, but their strongwill. Those who can stick on to the final line will win people’s applause.

What’s more, when people insist to finish the game, it is the respect thatthey show to their opponents. Their spirit deserves people’s applause.Insistence is a merit, we should keep it, no matter what we do, we must rememberto insist.

Material waste: it means the waste of substance or things from whichsomething else can be made. For example, people throw away the used metalproducts and buy a new one, so the old metal waste accumulates. At last, theybecome waste. For example, when people finish reading newspaper, the paper willbecome waste. When the glass is broken, it also becomes waste. Nobody wants touse a broken window or drink with a broken glass or wear a pair of brokenglasses. Once it is broken, it becomes waste. The rate of using plastics isincreasing day by day. People use plastic bags because they are convenient. Whenthey get home, they throw the plastics way, paying no attention to theenvironment. The more convenience plastics brings to us, the more plastic wasteis produced. This is called “white pollution” as most plastics are white. Someof our products we use every day are made of rubber, just like the tyres and thebottom part of our shoes. It’s true that rubber plays an important role in ourlife. On a Saturday morning. I went to have breakfast. I felt there was aterrible smell and went over to have a look carefully. I found that there was abig pile of banana skins giving out the smell.Just then a young fellow holding adustpan rubbish to walk towards here . He raised his hands, The big pile ofrubbish was here. At once I went to him and said “Uncle , you can’t do like this. These things will rot very soon. It’s bad for our health and make the peoplefall ill.” However ,the man said “Everyone does so ,who falls ill,who will seethe doctor.”

Looking at this , I remembered another act : There is a stream through ourvillage. Over it there are two bridges .At the age of seven years old , Ienjoyed the beautiful scenery under the bridge very much. It was the best placeto swim in summer. But now the rubbish was getting more and more .Dishleaves,fruit skins,dead ducks and chickens….after rotting ,not only themosquitos flew around but also the bad smell made everyone feel quiteterrible.Though the stream was cleaned up several times, it’s still happeningnow. A lot of plastic bags always float on it .In summmer we have to go far awayfrom the village to swim.

What causes this? Who is the devil?It’s the human ourselves. I have got toknown from a book .The rubbish in the countryside mostly occupies the fields anddamages the earth’s surface .It pollutes soil,wave ,atmosphere and damages ourhealth. The adults often say “The body is capital.” But why are they able tomake woollen cloth like this ? Does it affect everybody’s safe and sound life?

We live in the world every day. We eat food, drink water, wear clothes,watch TV, use computers and so on. We are producing waste every moment.

Generally speaking, there are four sorts of waste. They are material waste,organic waste, inorganic waste and poisonous & harmful waste. Now, we aregoing to talk about each sort of waste one by one.

Material waste: it means the waste of substance or things from whichsomething else can be made. For example, people throw away the used metalproducts and buy a new one, so the old metal waste accumulates. At last, theybecome waste. For example, when people finish reading newspaper, the paper willbecome waste. When the glass is broken, it also becomes waste. Nobody wants touse a broken window or drink with a broken glass or wear a pair of brokenglasses. Once it is broken, it becomes waste. The rate of using plastics isincreasing day by day. Move Forward

With age comes experience and with experience comes knowledge andunderstanding. No one individual is ever completed with his or her growth. Forthe wisest of all men has death to face. And with death imminent for all, onewill still have to face fear till the very end of one's existence. So to takewhat one learns through life and to press on towards the goals set will onebegin to face new, challenging, and sometimes even exciting new fears. Life willnever complete itself until one has completed the life he is given. Therefore itis incredibly irresponsible to merely accept death as the imminent future,settle into a comfort zone naught of challenge, and to merely exist. Could abetter definition of waste be drawn?

It is each and everyone's responsibility to konw who he is. And it is,therefore, each and everyone's responsibility to take what he has as genetictools to better his life and to better the lives of others. For if all acceptedindividuality and accepted the individuality of others, then all would have thesympathy for one another.

Harmonious, is one of the most popular words in the society at the present time. Now our governments are advocating building harmonious society. But what is harmonious? I looked it up in the dictionary. It says “in agreement, free from ill feeling.”

In some schools, there are a lot of problems. For instance, teachers do not have patience with students, some ever shout at them. Students fall in sleep during the class. Play truant is widespread. Cutter languages are often heard.

Campus, which is of course one part of the project, plays an essential role in the society. If we want to build a harmonious society, first we should build a harmonious campus, and get rid of those problems.

To a harmonious school, the surrounding is very important. On our campus, coconut trees growed line on the road. The green grass is the always fine spring day. The various flowers and trees are the beautiful scenery, the green outside the classroom show its grave to the students. When the students are walking around the campus, their bodies and minds are pleasant.

If we think of the harmonious campus as a tree, then the harmonious environment is the leaves of the tree. The good human relation of campus is the root.

Only the campus with good human relationships can be called a harmonious campus.
