上一年级时，妈妈买了一辆大红色的电动车送我上学，我们全家人围着新车，都说妈妈不用再当苦力了。
一开始我认为真不错，比起骑自行车，妈妈要省劲儿多了，以前妈妈用自行车送我上幼儿园，爬坡时，我看着她弯着腰吃力地蹬呀蹬，我拍着妈妈后背说：“‘大牙机’师傅，你辛苦了。”
妈妈笑着说：“我就这样驮着你，一直把你送进大学，再累我也不觉得辛苦呀。”电动车坐了一段时间，新鲜劲一过，我发现也有不少烦恼。每逢下雨天，打伞吧，伞容易被风吹走，还不安全；穿上雨衣吧，却又不能把我全部都遮住，我们时常都被淋成落汤鸡。
有一次，因为下雨，妈妈看不清，并且路很滑，一个急刹车我们连人带车都摔了一跤。冬天就更烦恼了，妈妈在前面骑车又冷又冻，我坐在她身后缩成小小的一团，北风呼呼地吹，我觉得自己都快被冻成冰坨了。有时，路上结一层薄薄的冰，那就更难骑行，我们就像溜冰一样一路往前滑，妈妈说她每次都吓出一身汗，我也跟着提心吊胆。夏天也不好受，头上顶着火辣辣的.太阳，一路上几乎没有树荫可以遮挡，躲也没处躲，藏也没处藏，我们都快被烤焦了，浑身汗如雨下，往往还没到学校，我已汗湿透了，真是苦不堪言。
上二年级时，妈妈的同事都陆续买车了，妈妈也买了一辆汽车，天蓝色的、胖胖的，我们全家人都戏称它叫“大胖子”，有车可真好啊！我们再也不用怕雨天、雪天了。不管外面风雨有多大，我坐在车里去上学，感到真是幸福啊！至于严寒酷暑就更不用愁了，冬天有暖气，夏天有空调，真正实现“冬暖夏凉”，并且车内还有各种装备，可以随时收听新闻、欣赏音乐，真是妙不可言！
听妈妈说，以前她上中学时，她家住在汀棠公园附近，每天都要走十多公里的路，到十二中上学，走一趟步行要一个多小时才能到，冬天天不亮就要出发，晚上要天黑才能走到家，常常是披星戴月，风雨兼程。
我想：现在父母给我创造了这么好的条件，我要好好的珍惜它，好好学习，练好本领。在我们家外公经常说这么一句话：要一代更比一代强，一个家庭是这样的，一个国家更是这样的。妈妈这一辈超过了外公，我也不能落后呀！

Nowadays, any Chinese can enjoy the luxury of owning a private car - if he or she can afford it. Having a car of your own means no more traveling to work on crowded buses or subway trains, and you can drop off the children at school on the way. However, there are drawbacks to owning a car.
