On the first day of my high school.l was told that the freshmen would need to join the military training.l felt so scared,because in the summer days,the sun was so hot and I would be burned to be a black man.But there was no way tor tne freshmen to refuse to join the military training,We stood under the hot sun,moving around the playground in the first two days.The training lasted for two weeks.We had to learn to be a soldier to obey many rules that we didn't have to in daily life.lt was tough,but in the coming days,we got used to it and started to enjoy the free time.All the students were like a group;we were trained,sweating and playing together.In the evening,we sang in the playground.Now when I think of those days,l will smile and treat them as the unforgettable memory in my life.

Attention, please! I have an announcement to make.
Our military training will last 11 days from Aug. 15th to Aug. 25th. It will take place in the school playground. The training time is from 7:30 to 11:30 in the morning and 2:30 to 5:30 in the afternoon. Everyone must attend the military training on time. Nobody is allowed to be absent from the training or be late for it. Ask the drillmaster for leave if necessary. Furthermore, we must be in military uniforms, wear strong sports shoes and bring our own cups. The day we were looking forward to came at last--a week's military training began.
During the training, each of us did his part in earnest. We drilled more than six hours a day, though it was very hot at the time.
In the blazing① sun, we always tried to measure up to the high standards which were demanded . Sweat streamed down and we wouldn't wipe it off. Olny three days later our faces were tanned.② We felt happy and proud of it .
Our platoon③ officer was a young PLA man, about twenty years old. He was very strict with us during the training and very kind to us afterwards. By talking with him, we came to know not only more information about army life, but also about military affairs.
The military training gave us good discipline. It brought us great happiness, too. We'll never forget it.

The drillmaster taught us that we must often say "never give up"in our life.Only in this way, we can succeed.
